Steve Okano is currently the Vice President of Professional Placement Services for Emeryville, CA based SVS Group, a division of Silicon Valley Staffing Group, Inc. Steve brings 20 years of recruitment, executive search, and human resources experience to the SVS Group. He has directed professional recruitment and executive search efforts as an external practitioner for Strategic Pursuits, Vitus Associates, and General Employment Enterprises. Steve has also directed recruitment and executive search efforts in two corporate human resources functions: Charles Schwab and Duty Free Shoppers/Moet Hennessey Louis Vuitton. In addition, he has also assumed responsibility for directing the corporate human resources function for international retail leader, DFS Galleria, including corporate functions located in Florence, Italy, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Geneva, Switzerland. Steve's business experience includes, functioning as Senior Vice President of Business Development/Human Resources for upstart internet information site, Priceis.com.
Earlier in his career Steve managed investor assets for Thomson McKinnon Securities, at the time considered to be the largest privately held investment firm on Wall Street. Steve Okano earned his Masters in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco.
